DESCRIPTION:8 Week Beginners Ceramic Art Course\nThis class runs for 8 weeks per term \nStart date Wednesday 15th October \n7 – 9.30 pm \nPrice $300 \nThis class is designed to give students a solid grounding in Hand Building ceramics\, each term covers new techniques such as slab building\, coiling\, carving\, glazing and surface decoration.Each student gets one 10 kg bag of clay/term and a set of basic tools. If you wish to purchase more clay or different types/colours of clay as you progress we can order that in as required.This is a beginners level adult course and also suitable for teens\, spaces are limited to eight students\, with a minimum of five for the course to go ahead. \nAll firing and glazing costs are included. \nYou will need to bring with you: \n*an apron \n*a note book and pen \n* a box or bag for your tools \nn.b. Please park on the street and walk down the driveway to the signposted Studio \nAbout your Tutor- \nStorm is an award winning artist of over 20 yrs experience\, she tutors classes and weekend workshops from her home studio and is a current tutor of both hand building and surface decoration courses at Otaki Pottery Club. \nHer work is currently stocked in 5 galleries around NZ and her gallery and studio will be open to the public for the Kapiti Atrs Trail coming up in November where she’s been a longstanding exhibitor for over 20 yrs. \nStorm has recently been invited to be the Featured Artist at the 2026 Paekakariki Artshow\, you can see more of her work on Instagram and her Storm Davenport Ceramic Art Facebook page. \nSo you’re in safe hands! \nDates : \nWed 15th Oct 7 pm – 9.30 pm \nWed 22nd Oct 7 pm – 9.30 pm \nWed 29th Oct 7 pm – 9.30 pm \nWed 5th Nov 7 pm – 9.30 pm \nWed 12 Nov 7 pm – 9.30 pm \nWed 19th Nov 7 pm – 9.30 pm \nWed 26th Nov 7 pm – 9.30 pm \nWed 3rd Dec 7 pm – 9.30 pm \nCancellation Policy: \nFull refund if Mahana Studio cancels a course. \nWithdrawals: 80% refund for cancellations made more than 7 days before class start date ( 20% is retained to cover administration costs )no refund for cancellations made within 7 days of the class start date or after the class has begun. \n
